How it works

BlueStar dealers have their vehicles pre-inspected by BlueStar. The reports are immediately available online for anyone to view at BlueStar.com. Simply enter the last six digits of the VIN.

If your dream car does not have a BlueStar Current Condition Report, ask your dealer to provide one.

BlueStar is changing the way we buy used cars

Vehicle history reports only tell you what has happened in the past (e.g. accidents, floods, etc.). They don’t tell you the current condition of the vehicle.

Is there an oil leak? How are the brakes? Does the transmission slip? Is the ball joint loose? Has the frame or undercarriage been damaged? The BlueStar CCR tells you all these things and more.

BlueStar identifies transparent dealers

The lowest price on a car is not always the best deal.  To offer a vehicle at a rock-bottom price and still maximize profits, many dealers avoid making needed repairs.  Some of these dealers do not want to provide transparency into the condition of the vehicle.  Instead, they may tell you the following:

Independent = Unbiased

For an inspection to be unbiased, it cannot be performed by a dealership’s in-house mechanic. It must be independent.

You should not consider buying any used vehicle without getting a third-party inspection.
